Everything Dolly is an interactive installation that simulates weight and force. It plays with the paradox of game assets—objects that exist only within virtual, digital systems and hold meaning solely in those contexts. In Everything Dolly, however, the audience can physically feel the weight of these virtual items by pulling a rope, thus transforming intangible game objects into embodied experiences. The work not only generates a tangible tension between the user and the digital system, but also translates the audience’s physical actions into another representational layer—one that becomes “meaningful” to the digital system itself.(Work Collected by Children’s Museum Pittsburgh)
