Cloudrive is an internet-based interactive artwork. Users can upload and download files in a dynamic, location-based manner. Guided by real-time wind speed and direction data, the uploaded files embark on a unique journey, drifting to various locations around the world. To retrieve your file, simply track its current location and find it within a 3-kilometer radius. This piece explores the unique qualities of digital files beyond their technical properties, highlighting their fluidity and impermanence. At the same time, it critiques the commodification of digital files, exposing the inherent contradictions of the digital ecosystem.
